Ali Stott

Based in Glasgow, Ali Stott has been gaining a reputation for his explorative and emotive music - his songs featuring diverse and unusual harmony, odd time signatures and improvisation, as well as folk-session-inspired crowd singalongs.
His self-produced music has been featured on BBC radio several times, including as part of BBC Introducing on Anna Massies' Travelling Folk Show. As a multi-instrumentalist Ali plays all parts on his recordings from drums and electric guitar to mandolin and fretless acoustic bass.
Ali played his debut headline show in March of 2026 at the Hug and Pint with a band of award winning jazz and folk musicians who add to the improvisational element and bring out the best in his often harmonically complex songs. He has also played supports in many Scottish venues from King Tuts in Glasgow to The Tollbooth in Stirling, and as an avid busker has travelled through both Ireland and England to their South Coasts in Clonakilty and Brighton respectively.
He is currently working towards his debut studio EP which will be recorded in November 2026 with his band. This EP will be largely recorded live to capture the improvisational nature of the music.
